(21) 1997

Albert Einstein says: "The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know."

While I share his sentiment, I've also discovered that in order for me to learn anything, I need to see it, touch it and experience it, otherwise I can never fully comprehend it.

Cynical? I don't think I am, because I have no doubt that everyone is born good and will act kindly, selflessly and fairly when given the chance.

I just don't like to be told how something is supposed to be. Everything we're exposed to is just one tiny piece of a greater puzzle, one side of a greater story, and I want to make my own final call on what it's supposed to mean to me.

Maybe that's why I chose to study journalism -- to discover the "truth" as I see it, and tell it through my own narrative.

Maybe that's also why I find study stifling, because I'm fed "knowledge" established by other people who -- as intelligent and successful as they may be -- are simply, not me.
