Welcome Home: Four Seasons London at Park Lane

I was always baffled by the fact that there was only one Four Seasons Hotel in London, located miles away from the heart of the city in Canary Wharf. How surprised I was when Four Seasons London at Park Lane reopened in January 2011 after a two-year, £70 million facelift.

What used to be The Inn on the Park - Mayfair, originally opened in 1970, was no more. In its place stood the contemporary, luxurious Four Seasons London at Park Lane.

Here's a look at the new hotel.

The hotel now has 192 rooms including 45 suites. A lounge, bar and restaurant called Amaranto, where breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner menus are available throughout the day. What Four Seasons Hotel would exist without a spa? This one is on the rooftop, with views over London and Hyde Park.

Four Seasons London reopened around the same time as The Savoy and W London and comparatively received much less press attention than the more glitzy establishments.

But looking at the TripAdvisor reviews, especially from business travellers, Four Seasons London seems to be getting the last laugh after all.
